Biography
Michael Phillips Keeley: Award-Winning Re-recording Mixer and Composer
Hailing from Winnipeg, Canada—the Slurpee capital of the world—Keeley is an acclaimed Re-recording Mixer and Composer with over 25 years of experience. He has mixed thousands of TV episodes, as well as numerous films, video games, and documentaries. Keeley has also composed music for hundreds of TV shows, including several theme songs currently airing on television, one of them being the History Channel's hit show The Curse of Oak Island.
In 2020, Keeley founded Sound Striker Post, leveraging his extensive experience from managing other post-production houses. His goal was to optimize workflows and deliver the highest quality sound, all while keeping projects within budget and on schedule.
At Sound Striker, Keeley has collaborated on numerous projects for major networks such as Disney, Netflix, and HBO, establishing himself as a preferred vendor. He also handled all audio for the historic SpaceX/NASA launches. His past scoring and immersive audio projects include collaborations with Jónsi (Sigur Rós), Run The Jewels, ASAP Rocky, Oliver Tree, Dragon Force, Danny Carey (Tool) and Co Composing an album with Dennis McCarthy (Star Trek Next Generation).
One of Keeley's most immersive projects was mixing the latest immersive shows at Griffith Observatory,
Signs Of Life, which was pre-dubbed at Sound Striker and then upmixed for the planetarium’s 28.1 immersive speaker setup.
Pacific Standard Universe, which was mixed in Dolby Atmos and recently premiered in the newly renovated Leonard Nimoy theater.
